lost luxury luster
I picked up this book last time I was at the B&N.
I’m about a third of the way through but am already impressed with much of the information she was able to uncover.
At one point, she discusses how brand image is not only maintained through advertising but also through the way information is released to the public about financial health, client lists, showrooms, and the such.
Even with where I am, we are often to told to present our work-spaces or our persons a certain way depending on who may be visiting the offices.
But, it also gives a nice background on all the major fashion houses and how they have come to be. It’s amazing to realize that most of the modern day fashion business practices were only developed recently as opposed to the long standing tradition most major houses like to discuss during interviews.
By in by, a good read for anyone interested in the fashion industry or even for an insider.
